William Paul Streiber, 86, known to his friends and family as “Bill,” passed away peacefully on July 21st. He will be greatly missed.
An L.A. native, Bill was born on Christmas Day in 1935, to Wilhelm Paul Streiber, Sr. and Hildegard Streiber, and grew up in Altadena, CA. He graduated from John Muir High School, and went on to attend Pasadena City College and USC before graduating from Cal State Los Angeles.
Known for his dry wit, bright smile and love for a fine steak, a good joke and a vodka gimlet, (straight up!), Bill was a kind and gentle soul beloved by all he met.
In his early years he was an avid tennis player who also enjoyed sailing and golf, while in his later years, he became a master of the remote control and witty commentary as he watched whatever sport was playing on television.
Bill was an Eagle Scout and a lifelong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a camp counselor for many summers on Catalina Island. He later attended an Executive Scouts Training program in New Jersey, before moving to Berkeley California, as an executive in the Mount Diablo Council. He then moved to Los Angeles where he has remained since, working for various banks and financial institutions.
Bill adored his family and supported their many endeavors.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes Streiber; daughter, Andrea Streiber and her fiancé, Taylor Hanson; sons, William Arthur Streiber (Glynis Costin), Paul Streiber (Kari Streiber), and Andrew Streiber; granddaughters, Siena and Kayla Streiber; former spouse, Deborah Streiber; and sister, Paula Di Conti (Greg Di Conti) and nephew, Paul Di Conti.
Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the Pasadena Humane Society.
