BRENTWOOD >> Police called to a supermarket arrested a person last week that they said was suspected of brandishing a gun.
In a statement Tuesday, Brentwood police said officers were called about 8:30 p.m. Friday to a supermarket in the 1100 block of Second Street. They found a victim who said a man had pulled out a gun while delivering a threat.
The officers saw the suspect, a 28-year-old Antioch man, at the scene when they arrived. Police said they officers used extra precautions while telling the man to get out of the car — a “high-risk” stop — and arrested him there, finding a gun in the car in the process.
Authorities said police took the man into custody on suspicion of assault with a firearm, making criminal threats, carrying a loaded firearm in a car, possessing a concealed weapon, and assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
Jail records indicated he remained in custody Tuesday at the West County Detention Facility in Richmond in lieu of $100,000.
