Pitcher Tomas Bilvado helped keep San Marino’s Rio Hondo League title hopes alive by tossing a complete game in a 3-1 victory over Monrovia on Thursday.

Bilvado allowed four hits with eight strikeouts and took a shutout to the seventh inning before the Wildcats scored an unearned run.

The Titans, who lost 1-0 to Monrovia on Tuesday, took two of three from the Wildcats to improve to 17-6 overall and 6-2 in league.

The Wildcats (19-4, 8-2) and Titans are tied in the loss column, but the Wildcats have two more wins with only two league games left to play.

The Titans scored first on JT Lu-Morris’ sacrifice fly in the fourth inning that brought home Chase Mena for a 1-0 lead.

Miles Morning singled home Mena in the fifth inning to make it 2-0, and the Titans added another run in the sixth inning to go up 3-0.

The Wildcats threatened in the sixth inning with runners on second and third and two outs, but Bilvado got a strikeout to escape.

Northview 10, Charter Oak 6: The Vikings took over sole possession of first place in the Valle Vista League by finishing a two-game sweep of the Chargers.

AJ Flores led the way with a two-run homer, double and scored twice. Joey Ramos was 3 for 4 with a double and RBI, and Michael Mendoza had two hits, a double and two RBIs as the Vikings improved to 12-9-1 and 5-1 in league play.

The Chargers (9-10, 4-2) had won six straight before two losses to the Vikings this week. Diego Flores drove in two runs.

Maranatha 9, Watsonville St. Francis 5: The Minutemen won their second straight in the Central Coast Classic tournament at Righetti High School.

Gabe Barragan had two doubles, an RBI and scored three times. Jayden Morales was 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Lukus Perez singled in two runs. Josh Proctor had a double and scored.

The Minutemen (13-6-1), who beat Lompoc 8-2 on Wednesday, played two more tournament games Friday before heading home.

Villa Park 6, Bishop Amat 3: The Lancers had a six-game winning streak snapped and drop to 19-5 overall.

The Lancers took a 3-2 lead in the third inning, but it was brief as Villa Park quickly tied the score and added two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth inning to pull it out.

Diego Briones had a double and two hits and Santiago Ramirez also had a double in the Lancers’ nonleague loss. Levi Altamirano drove in a run. The other two Lancers runs were unearned.

SOFTBALL

California 10, Santa Fe 0: Condors pitcher Pricilla Ramirez threw a five-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts as the Condors improved to 16-9 overall and 7-1 in the Del Rio League.

Hailey Chavolla led the way with a three-run home run and Lauren Trivino was 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Shirley Acevedo was 2 for 3 with a double and Ally DeAlba drove in a run with a triple and scored twice.

La Serna 8, El Rancho 4: Elissa Guerrero had three doubles and an RBI, and Lexi Avila had two doubles and two RBIs to lead the Lancers (13-9, 5-3 Del Rio League).

Mikaela Galicia doubled in two runs and Madison Corral was 3 for 3 with two runs scored.

The Dons (12-8-1, 4-3) were paced by Lesly Valdez, who was 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

La Habra 3, Sonora 1: The Highlanders’ Eliana Corona broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning with a two-run home run.

The Highlanders (19-7, 10-0) have clinched the Freeway League title and need two more wins to finish league play undefeated.

Madison Payne earned the win for the Highlanders. She gave up eight hits over six innings with two strikeouts.
