


No. 1 Auburn beats Arkansas 67-60
AUBURN, Ala. >> Johni Broome had 16 points and 13 rebounds and No. 1 Auburn overcame a rough offensive performance to beat Arkansas 67-60 on Wednesday night.
After winning at Alabama on Saturday in a game between the top teams in the poll, Auburn (24-2, 12-1 Southeastern Conference) avoided its second straight home loss.
NO. 10 ST. JOHN’S 82, DEPAUL 58>> Kadary Richmond had 17 points and nine rebounds, Deivon Smith scored 18 and No. 10 St. John’s matched its highest Big East win total in 26 years, beating DePaul.
Sadiku Ibine Ayo scored a career-high 15. Zuby Ejiofor chipped in with 13 points and nine rebounds, helping St. John’s win for the 12th time in 13 games.
In their second season under Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino, the first-place Red Storm (23-4, 14-2) equaled their highest conference win total since the 1998-99 team went 14-4 in league play. They lead No. 16 Marquette and Creighton by 2 1/2 games.
NO. 17 KENTUCKY 82, VANDERBILT 61>> Otega Oweh scored 20 points and No. 17 Kentucky took advantage of its size to start the second half to pull away for a win over Vanderbilt.
The Wildcats (18-8, 7-6 Southeastern Conference) led 41-40 at the half, but focused on going inside for their first three baskets of the second half and forced the Commodores to take a timeout three minutes in.
Denver 71, Oral Roberts 60>> Sebastian Akins’ 15 points helped Denver defeat Oral Roberts 71-60 on Wednesday night.
Akins went 7 of 13 from the field (1 for 5 from 3-point range) for the Pioneers (10-19, 4-10 Summit League). Nicholas Shogbonyo scored 11 points and added six rebounds. DeAndre Craig went 4 of 9 from the field and also scored 11 points.

No. 5 UConn extends win streak over Seton Hall to 41 games
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.>>Paige Bueckers had 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists to lead No. 5 UConn to a 91-49 victory over Seton Hall on Wednesday night, the Huskies’ 41st straight victory over the Pirates.
UConn last lost to Seton Hall on Jan. 5th, 1994.
Bueckers, who scored at least 20 points for the 14th time this season, moved past Diana Taurasi and into ninth place on UConn’s career scoring list with 2,166 points.
NO. 10 TCU 82, ARIZONA ST. 66>> Madison Conner scored all of her 22 points in the second half, Sedona Prince added 17 and No. 10 TCU overcame a rare off night from 3-point distance to beat Arizona State.
The Horned Frogs (25-3, 13-2 Big 12) returned to the top 10 this week behind the nation’s most prolific 3-point-shooting team. TCU labored from the arc against Arizona State (8-19, 2-13), shooting 7 of 22 to allow the Sun Devils to hang around well into the fourth quarter.
Conner helped the Horned Frogs put the game away, hitting three 3s in the fourth quarter. She went 4 of 10 from 3 to reach 101 for the season, breaking the school record she set a year ago.
NO. 23 CREIGHTON 65, ST. JOHNS’ 62>> Morgan Maly scored 14 of her 20 points in the second half and No. 23 Creighton rallied in the fourth quarter to edge St. John’s.
The Red Storm (14-12, 4-11 Big East) led for nearly 30 minutes and were up 51-46 heading into the final quarter before the Bluejays (22-4, 14-1) rallied to win their sixth straight game and clinch a top-two seed in the conference tournament.
