My wife and I are both in our mid 70s, we have comorbidities. We’ve been in the house since March to avoid COVID-19. We thought we were next in line to get a vaccine after the exceptional care workers and the nursing homes. But as I turned on the TV, I see politicians and religious people getting vaccines well ahead of us. How are they able to jump in line and will we be able to get our vaccine before we die?

Robert, Homewood

Graham, Rubio, Pelosi and McConnell: Just a few whose leadership took us down a bungled road of destruction but wasted no time getting to the front of the line for their vaccines because government functioned so well with them among those taking the reins.

Mary, Tinley Park

Would somebodytell me when politicians became essential workers to be in line for their shots.

Jim, South Holland

To those unwillingto get the COVID-19 vaccine for whatever reason, just remember that 70% to 80% of us need to get the vaccine to rid us of the virus. So don’t complain when stores, restaurants, theaters, etc. stay closed. I trust the scientists and the health professionals over what you hear from relatives or neighbors.

Bill, Orland Hills

I agree with one recent contributor. Gov. Pritzker and Sen. Durbin continuously paint a dire picture of our state, yet I read in the newspaper that Illinois is leading the nation in the number of people vaccinated. Additionally, I’m tired of Illinois politicians moaning about how the federal government doesn’t help them. The federal government has 49 other states to deal with, plus over a dozen territories. Yet according our politicians, we are the most important, needy and deserving. The feds aren’t going to financially bail out our state, and they shouldn’t. A $5 billion check from the feds won’t fix decades of bad policies, awful laws and crooked lawmakers.

Joann, Oak Forest

Just received my electric bill. My usage was down 12% from the prior year but my billed amount was up nearly 26% compared to last year. Hey ComEd what gives?

Mike, Tinley Park

When Dr. Jillgot slandered by Republicans she should walk away and say when they go low, we go high, and we the Democrats have bigger fish to fry.
