Jackson Township
Detectives from the Porter County Sheriff’s Department are investigating a stabbing early Monday in rural Jackson Township in which a Lowell man was seriously injured, police said.
Details of the incident are still being investigated but detectives have determined it was an isolated incident between the victim and the suspect, according to a release from Sgt. Jamie Erow, public information officer with the sheriff’s department.
The stabbing occurred around 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 500 East block of Carriage Lane.
The victim, 21, whose name was not released, was transported to Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus in Gary with serious injuries, Erow said.
Erow said the man’s status was not known.
Detectives have determined a suspect and are questioning that person, and more information will be provided when it becomes available, Erow said.
