


A Worth man was ordered held Monday following a court hearing on a charge he stabbed to death a woman in a home they shared in the village, according to authorities and court documents.
Anthony Acosta Sr., 55, of the 11500 block of South Nagle Avenue in Worth, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of a woman early Saturday.
Acosta is next scheduled for a court appearance in Markham on Friday, according to court filings.
Worth police said they responded at 4:30 a.m. Saturday to a 911 call requesting assistance for a disturbance in the 11500 block of South Nagle.
Police said Saturday they found the victim, identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as 43-year-old Nicole Acosta, of the 11500 block of South Nagle.
She had suffered multiple sharp-force injuries and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the office. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:52 a.m. Saturday, according to the office.
After announcing Sunday that charges had been filed against Acosta, Worth police said the investigation is ongoing and that no additional information is being released.
