ANTIOCH >> A 23-year-old man was in county jail Monday after his arrest late last week on suspicion of multiple charges in connection with a shooting last month in the city’s Sycamore corridor, authorities said.
In a statement, police said a traffic stop by members of the department’s gang and special investigations units Thursday on Vasco Road in Brentwood led to the arrest of a Livermore resident, followed by service of a search warrant at his home.
Investigators said they believe the man is the suspect behind a non-injury shooting just after 1:05 p.m. Dec. 12, near Peppertree Way and Sycamore Drive. Officers who responded to calls reporting the shooting found no victims, but managed to recover evidence of it, police said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and several other firearms-related offenses, and was in custody at Martinez county jail on $1.2 million bail, according to a county records check Monday night.
