Two men have died following a car crash in Seaside, as police continue to investigate.

The Seaside Police Department reported that officers responded to a car crash Sunday at about 10 p.m. at the intersection of Del Monte and Fremont boulevards. At the scene, a car was overturned near the intersection of Fremont and Military Avenue.

Two adult males were discovered on the roadway, and despite life-saving efforts by first responders, both succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Police say their preliminary investigation indicates that the car was traveling north on Del Monte at a high speed, then veered onto the center island at the Del Monte/Fremont intersection and struck a pedestrian.

The vehicle continued onto Fremont and crashed through a raised partition in the left turn lane. It rolled over, ejected the driver and came to rest on the northeast corner of Fremont and Military.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Seaside Police Department at (831) 899-6748. Callers can remain anonymous by calling (831) 899-6282.
