“Abbott Elementary” has been renewed for its fifth season, but there may be some major changes underway: The hit ABC sitcom’s creator and star, Quinta Brunson, is contemplating how much longer the show will go on.
“We are so fortunate and blessed to be on a network TV show for five seasons, and for people to still be fans,” she told Bustle in a new cover story. “That being said, I have cast members who would love to pursue other projects, and our show is very time-consuming.”
Brunson continued: “We shoot about seven months out of the year. That can stop people from being able to do a lot of other things.”
Brunson has become a hot Hollywood commodity amid the show’s ratings and critical acclaim. She has an exclusive, multiyear overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group to create new projects for the studio’s multiple platforms.
“Right now, I’m receiving scripts and waiting for that moment that feels like, oh, man, this is exactly what I’ve been looking for,” she said. “ ‘Abbott’ has been so successful, and I want to use that success to get other people’s projects off the ground.”
The premiere date for Season 5 of “Abbott Elementary” has yet to be announced.
‘turned my stomach,’ says O’donnell of bezos event
Rosie O’Donnell is the latest person to call out Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his new wife, Lauren Sanchez, for their lavish wedding in Venice, Italy.
“The Bezos’ wedding,” O’Donnell wrote. “It turned my stomach seeing all these billionaires gathering in the gross excess of it all. The show of it.
“He treats his employees with disdain. By any metric, he is not a nice man.”
Aerosmith’s perry raises possibility of more shows
Aerosmith is teasing a potential comeback, nearly a year after cutting short its farewell tour.
Guitarist Joe Perry revealed in a new interview on SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation” that he talks to the other band members often. He, singer Steven Tyler and bassist Tom Hamilton even reunited for Tyler’s Jam for Janie Grammy Awards Viewing Party, a charity event in Los Angeles back in February.
“I know there’s gotta be at least another Aerosmith gig, and I’m not looking forward to putting the set list together for that one,” Perry said with a laugh.
Aerosmith was scheduled to end its Peace Out Tour in February but abruptly retired last August due to Tyler’s vocal injury.
Perry said he believes Tyler, 77, would be open to doing at least one more reunion show as Aerosmith.
“I think he would. I think it’s just a matter of getting there,” Perry told “Trunk Nation.”
