Joseph Dayritt rushed for a pair of touchdowns and a two-point conversion, and Jacob Jimenez scored twice in St. Francis High’s 42-25 win over visiting Pajaro Valley on Saturday.

Sharks coach John Ausman credited two-way linemen Nicolas Ibarra, Nick Paz, and Marcus Gonzalez for their play.

Jimenez had one rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown.

Quarterback Javier DaRosa-Fonseca and John Croghan also rushed four touchdowns.

DaRosa-Fonseca also recorded an interception on defense. Pajaro Valley’s Ismael Nunez also made an interception.

Adrian Mendoza scored twice for the Grizzlies, Brian Flores scored a touchdown and had a two-point conversion, and Izaak Ocampo kicked a field goal.

On Friday, Pajaro Valley (1-1) plays at Denair (1-2) at 7 p.m., and St. Francis (1-1) plays at Greenfield (2-0) at 7:30 p.m.

Branham 60, at Scotts Valley 35

SCOTTS VALLEY — Senior quarterback Jack Lewis threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Zayne St. Laurent to break a 21-all tie, and the Bruins pulled away from the Falcons’ in their nonleague win Saturday.

The teams played in 100-degree weather, Falcons coach Louie Walters said.

“Branham wore us down in the second half,” he said.

Isaac Currie scored two defensive touchdowns for the Falcons. He returned an interception 65 yards for a score, and a fumble 35 yards for a score.

Scotts Valley’s Niko Smutzer scored on a 70-yard kickoff return, Logan Collins scored on a 40-yard run, and Eli Velez scored on a 20-yard run. Enrique Martinez made five extra-point kicks.

Lewis completed 18 of his 21 pass attempts for 368 yards and five touchdowns. St. Laurent finished with seven catches for 240 yards and four touchdowns.

The Bruins finished with 440 yards passing and 208 yards rushing.

It was the first time the Falcons have allowed 50 or more points in a game since Nov. 2, 2018.

Scotts Valley (1-1) plays at San Lorenzo Valley (2-0) in Felton on Saturday at 2 p.m.
