January 20, 1933 - March 1, 2025 West Covina, CA Beverly Bulthuis was born in Orange, CA and passed away surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Albert Hess and her brother, Richard.

Beverly met her husband, Raymond Bulthuis and they fell in love and married when she was 19. They started their adventure together and moved to Mountain View, CA during Ray’s service in the Navy. Following his discharge, they moved back to the Los Angeles area where they started a family and a loving home in West Covina, CA. where they raised their five children: Brian, Mitchel, Shirley, Bonnie and Henri.

Beverly had a deep faith in God. Her life revolved around her family, church, neighborhood, and community. She’ll be remembered as one who loved to babysit the neighborhood children and teach Sunday school. As a Camp Fire leader and Cub Scout mother she mentored and influenced generations of young children; teaching them about caring, kindness and beauty. Later, she volunteered in leadership roles including President of the Mount San Antonio Council of Camp Fire and President of West Covina Beautiful. Beverly’s active role in Friends of the Library and West Covina Historical Society demonstrated her dedication and devotion to community. Her selection as West Covina’s Citizen of the Year and her 2024 West Covina Historical Preservation Award acknowledged her selfless stewardship to the community.

Beverly loved gardening, reading, camping, day trips, and adventures. One of her last camping trips was atthe age of 91 to Doheny Beach. She would look out onto the sea and feel it’s magnificence. She found beauty wherever she went and her desire was for us to continue to find the beauty in all things and each other.

A graveside service will be held at Rose Hills. Her memorial service will be at the West Covina United Methodist Church.
