Join with Republicans warning about Trump
We now find ourselves with “Me, Too” and “Say Their Names” movements to recognize people who have stood up to DJT and been vilified by him and his supporters. We must speak the names of the likes of Liz Cheney, Cassidy Hutchinson, Mike Pence, John Bolton, Dan Coats, Mark Esper, John F. Kelly, H.R. McMaster, Jim Mattis, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Stephanie Grisham, Sarah Matthews, Omarosa Manigault Newman, Marc Short, Andrew McCabe, Mark Milley, Olivia Troye, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Christine Todd Whitman, David Valadao, John Boehner, Paul Ryan, Adam Kinzinger, Will Hurd, David Jolly, Meghan McCain, George Conway, Fred Trump III, George Will and many more.
As the election draws near, those Republicans are warning us about the danger he poses.
DJT called Kamala a Communist long before she agreed with those who know him best that he is a fascist, pointing his finger at others based on his darkly hallucinatory dreams. Trump Derangement Syndrome is not the invention of Democrats.
Embrace the alternative, Kamala’s vision of health, happiness, and freedom from fear.

Brown in 2nd District to support rail trail project
As a resident of South County … and a victim of the morning commute to downtown … I have a strong interest in the 2nd District county supervisor contest. I am told by a local veteran pol that elections are usually resolved by the size and number of roadside signs. Kim De Serpa is clearly the favorite. I am told she is sponsored by large landholders and wealthy homeowners who bought property with railroad easements at a discount long ago. Should those be exercised now for our rail trail project, which she seems to be not enthusiastic about — their property will remain at its peak value.
Kristen Brown is obviously much more qualified with government experience. It’s all about the dough re mi.

De Serpa in District 2; for ‘people not politics’
I support Kim De Serpa for supervisor in the 2nd District because she is for people not politics.
I will not vote for Kristen Brown. Brown has shown herself to be detached from community. This is best illustrated by her continued opposition against the 2019 Measure L amendment by Capitola voters which amended Capitola’s Health and Safety Ordinance to take “all steps necessary” to preserve and utilize the RTC-owned rail corridor and trestle, for “walking, cycling, using a wheelchair, or skateboarding; and also prohibits the expenditure of city “funds or resources for a detour of the Trail onto Capitola streets or sidewalk.”
Kristen now openly supports the RTC doing just the opposite than the wishes of Capitola voters.
From my viewpoint that means she is detached from the 2nd District residents.
Kim De Serpa will honor the voters’ desires regarding this issue and other issues that will be considered by the RTC and Board of Supervisors.
Kim De Serpa’s motto is “Together For Community.” Vote for Kim De Serpa for supervisor.

De Serpa’s highly qualified to be next supervisor
The Sentinel endorsed Kristen Brown, lauding her service on several committees as qualifications for the important job of 2nd District Supervisor. It is important to realize that our prior two supervisors learned “how government works” on the job. Of greater import was their intelligence, determination, commitment, and willingness to dive into a steep learning curve to address the needs of the residents of the 2nd District.
Clearly, Kim De Serpa is far more qualified to attack this task, given her 14-year history as a leader on the Pajaro Valley School Board. She set goals and priorities for a $330 million annual budget, negotiated contracts, helped hire three superintendents, allocated resources, and worked with all levels of government to develop and implement sound educational policies. Kim now manages 40+ health care workers at Salinas Valley Hospital. That should tell us all we need to know about Kim De Serpa’s ability to “know how government works.”
Kim is committed to contribute time and energy to make improvements to the 2nd District and will use her considerable skill to do so.
