




The LaPorte County Symphony Orchestra’s fourth and final subscription concert of the 2024-25 season heralds the Golden Age of Broadway with an evening of musical theater classics from America’s best-loved composer duo Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. Titled as “Some Enchanted Evening” for one performance only 7 p.m. April 12, audiences of all ages will enjoy selections from “South Pacific,” “The Sound of Music,” “The King and I,” “Showboat” and “Oklahoma,” featuring LCSO Music Director Dr. Carolyn Watson, soprano Emily Yiannias, baritone Leroy Davis and soprano Susan Nelson. Rodgers and Hammerstein remain cherished as an iconic American songwriting duo, known for revolutionizing the musical theater genre. Composer Rodgers and lyricist/librettist Hammerstein II paired talents to create some of the most beloved musicals in Broadway history, after their collaboration, which began in 1943, helped elevate musical theater to new artistic heights, blending storytelling with innovative musical composition and meaningful lyrics. Their work often tackled social issues while also providing timeless entertainment, leaving an enduring legacy in both theater and popular culture. Brotherly fun
In time for the 45th anniversary of the film “The Blues Brothers,” Chuck Little steps into the guise of Elwood “Blooze,” opposite Norm Boucher as Joliet Jake “Blooze,” for a rollicking night in tribute to the 1980 movie that shot John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd to film fame. For more than three decades, the Blooze Brothers have been one of Chicagoland’s favorite and fun show bands, honoring the music made by the original Blues Brothers. This dynamic duo performs one concert tribute at 7:30 p.m. on the Theatre at the Center stage at The Center for Visual and Performing Arts, 1040 Ridge Road in Munster on Friday, April 11. It’s a salute that captures the spirit of Aykroyd’s love of traditional blues and soul and Belushi’s love of classic rock in a tribute performance to fuse the great musical traditions into a stage show that entertains. A ‘Top Temptation’
A legendary pairing is on tour with all the stage moves and music from record playing and radio days fame. The Temptations and the Four Tops are sharing a 40th anniversary tour with this pairing of music royalty. Lasers and local legends
A tribute to Pink Floyd, Echoes of Pompeii is comprised of a 10-piece band for fans who love the recreation of the true sound of a Pink Floyd concert. From synthesizers, delayed vocals, slide guitars and female backup singers, the band grabs the audience with state-of-the-art visuals such as lasers, lights, video, and the iconic images that Pink Floyd was well known to produce.
