Schurr football coach Dave Ramos has resigned after leading the team for 10 years, he confirmed Monday.

The Spartans had two of their best teams under Ramos the past two seasons. They won back-to-back Almont League championships and won 13 straight Almont League games dating back to the 2022 season.

Schurr finished 9-2 this season and was 18-4 over the past two seasons.

The Spartans reached the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs this season, where they lost to Muir, 22-19, in the first round of the playoffs.

Ramos, who began as Schurr’s head coach in 2015, finished with a 64-39 overall record, won four league championships and advanced to the CIF-SS quarterfinals twice.

The Spartans will likely get a lot of strong candidates to replace Ramos, and assistant coach Austin Montoya will probably get strong consideration to take over the program.
