DUI arrest: On Nov. 28 at around 11:15 p.m., an officer working patrol stopped a vehicle in the are of North College Street for a vehicle code violation. The driver, a 46-year-old Woodland resident Richardo Zaragoza, was arrested and booked into the Yolo County Jail for driving under the influence.

Gun arrest: On Dec. 5 at around 1:37 a.m., a citizen reported their firearm had been stolen from their home. The investigation showed that two individuals had just visited the home and left. The resident provided names and descriptions of the people who had been there: Juan Ricardo Lopez, a 51-year-old Woodland resident, and Makayela Steinke, a 32-year-old Woodland resident.

Officers were familiar with both individuals and they were located in a vehicle, in a parking lot on West Main Street together. K-9 Bruno arrived and alerted to the presence of a target odor inside the vehicle. Officers detained Lopez and Steinke. Drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle. Steinke was in possession of the stolen firearm. She was arrested for theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed loaded firearm in a vehicle, possession of a firearm that was not registered to her, and committing a felony while out on bail. Lopez had a felony warrant so he was arrested. Lopez and Steinke were both booked into the Yolo County Jail.

HOST made 30 contacts and offered services to 15 individuals, 7 accepted services. HOST tagged 10 camps and cleaned up eight. HOST conducted five downtown patrols.

HOST helped connect an individual with resources who has struggled with addiction to controlled substances for years. This person agreed to attend live-in care, which will hopefully put their life back on track. HOST had worked with this individual for many years trying to help them create a better quality of life.
