Trump’s energy agenda
Re “States sue the Trump administration for blocking the development of wind energy” (May 6):
Our president is undermining his own agenda. He had written an executive order establishing the National Energy Dominance Council in February.
The order stated “America is blessed with an abundance of natural resources and is a leader in energy technologies and innovation that are critical to the economic prosperity and national security of the American people.” It goes on to state “we must expand all forms of reliable and affordable energy production to drive down inflation and grow our economy.”
So I need to ask why did he also vow to shut down off-shore wind energy? Doesn’t that fall under “all forms” and “innovation?” Certainly harnessing the power of wind and adding it to our energy arsenal is valuable to drive down costs. So, I conclude those states suing the Trump administration are not only helping our country, but helping the president achieve his stated goal in that executive order.

Regarding (May 4) “Trump fumbled his first 100 days”: It appears Rafael Perez’s case of Trump Derangement Syndrome has taken away any reasonable thought. His mention of policies that obviously won’t work is actually the opposite of what’s happening, with lower inflation, gas prices, etc. Mentioning immigrants with college degrees conveniently left out the defining word “illegal,” and the billions of dollars they cost us every year. Tariffs to even the playing field of world commerce are lost on him. Tariffs on China are an attempt to halt the flow of fentanyl into our country. His false accusation of Trump terrorizing international students is another indication he detests our president.
Such a strange reaction to a president who by any measure surpasses the failed Biden administration. Unfortunately, Mr. Perez’s formerly constructive criticism has turned into deceptive hate-filled rants. Opinions are fine, but how about some honesty.

The news media and Trump’s first 100 days
Thankfully, there are other news outlets that offer a different take on President Donald Trump’s accomplishments. Of course, this is California.
