Gayle Kathleen Geiser King, age 92, passed away peacefully with her husband at her side early on June 29, 2023 in Palm Springs, California. She was born on September 14, 1930 to Edmunds and Elmo Geiser in Froid, Montana. She is survived by Arthur (Art) King, her husband of 69 years, her son John King and his wife Kim King; her son Scott King and his husband Sandy Edelstein; her beloved grandchildren Stewart King and Susannah (Susie) King; her niece Stephanie King-Hoffman and her husband Jeff Hoffman as well as a host of loving family members and dear friends.

Gayle attended Monterey High School, graduated from U.S. Grand High School in Portland, Oregon June 9, 1949, and attended Lewis and Clark College in Portland.

Her family moved to Monterey, California, permanently when she was a young adult, where she met Art. Gayle and Art were married in Las Vegas in 1954 and raised their family in Monterey. Gayle was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked as an office manager and bookkeeper at a local dentist's office for many years and was active in the Dixieland Monterey organization, and shared a love of the music with her husband.

Gayle was a strong lady. She was diagnosed with stage four endometrial cancer in 2008. She survived that, as well as a bout with lung cancer in 2010, and breast cancer in 2019, and she battled lymphoma until the end. A person’s legacy should not be defined by their illnesses but how they lived. Gayle maintained a positive outlook on life that helped her get through those tough times and enjoy her 92 years.

Gayle was loved by those whose lives she touched over the years, and she will be missed by more souls than she could possibly imagine. Per her request, there will be no service. Her life and her spirit will continue to be celebrated by those that knew and loved her. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
