Born February 1st, 1928, to Edward Leo and Grace Marie Smith in Alameda, California, she enjoyed a nice life in Alameda and San Francisco despite the untimely and early death of her father when she was 10 years of age. Her brother Warren took over roll of father figure for which she was ever grateful; she graduated from Presentation High School in San Francisco and was an accomplished piano player. She married Tom on July 11, 1953, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together with their three children living in Japan and Okinawa until returning to the states in 1968. They loved to travel, play golf and attend church together. Tom passed after 44 years of marriage in January of 1997. Pat became very involved with St. Joachim Catholic Church, becoming a Eucharistic minister for 4:30 mass, minister for the sick as well as working the St Vincent de Paul food pantry. She continued to love golf, playing for the Marina Women's club and at Chabot College, continued to travel with friends and family, and had a very active social life. She enjoyed many years of visiting the local dog park with her best friends, Storm and later, Sunny. Her greatest joy was becoming great nana to Kyle and Max. Pat lived the last three years of her life at Foothill Village Senior Community. Our family kindly requests donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul of Alameda or Hospice of Calaveras and Amador Counties who provided very loving care at the end of her long and very fulfilled life. She will be missed.
A service will be held at St. Joachim Catholic Church, 21250 Hesperian Blvd, Hayward, CA 94541 February 24that10:30 am.
