Beverly Bennett Loughridge (Egan), beloved wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor passed away on November 13, 2023, leaving behind an indelible mark of love, grace, strength and courage.

Born on May 8, 1935, in Ft. Worth, Texas, only child to Samuel and Joy Bennett. Raised in Ft. Worth, Texas and Kansas City, Missouri. Bev attended Sunset Hill School in Kansas City, Missouri (1953) then Texas Tech University, in Lubbock, Texas and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Stanford University, in Palo Alto, CA (1957).

In 1955, Bev married David T. Egan, they began an adventurous military life together from Lubbock, Texas to Normandy, France where Bev enjoyed traveling and antiquing at the Paris flea market and French countryside, all the while beguiling the French with her mastery of their language. They settled back in the San Francisco Bay Area, in Marin County, California with their three children. Bev was active in her children’s lives from teaching phonics, volunteering for Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Ballet activities to lending ‘loud and proud’ support to all their endeavors. She loved gardening, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and was a fabulous cook always trying out new recipes.

After raising her three children, Bev had a 20-year career as a successful real estate agent in Marin County, CA which was both fulfilling and rewarding for her. In 1993, she moved from Marin County, CA back to her ‘roots’ in the State of Texas.

In 1995, Bev married David L. Loughridge of Richardson, Texas and they too had a life of adventure. Moving from the flatland of Texas to Colorado to build a dream home in the mountains looking up at Pikes Peak. Eventually, moving back to Plano, Texas where she lived an active life serving her church which gave her both comfort and joy, she was a part of social and philanthropic activities as president of the Women’s Rotary Club and enjoying her ‘lunch bunch’ activities. Bev freely gave of herself, in that vein, she helped form a group of talented women who called themselves the ‘knit wits’ whose mission it was to hand knit socks, caps, and blankets so less fortunate families could bring their newborns home with something warm and full of love.

Bev was preceded in death by her daughter, Ada Egan Morris and is survived by her husband, David L. Loughridge, her former husband David T. Egan, her children David T. Egan II (Cheryl), Elisabeth E. Hartley (Brian) and her stepson Flint Loughridge Sr. (Regina) and stepdaughter Mary Alexander. Grandchildren William, Heather, Beverly, Samuel, Courtney, Flint Jr., Lacey and Zachary. Great grandchildren Will, Theo, Ada, Brandon and Brienne.

Bev was the nucleus of our whole wonderful, blended family with such pride and joy in her eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with whom she cherished and adored.
