Bingo fundraiser: The Upland Woman’s Club holds its annual bingo bash Aug. 4 at the clubhouse at 590 N. Second Ave., Upland. Event begins with lunch at noon, followed by bingo at 1 p.m. The $20 fee includes an opportunity drawing ticket, one bingo card, a hot dog, chips, lemonade and ice cream. Mental health training workshop: San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health’s Community Education Program offers free LEAP (Listen-Empathize-Agree-Partner) training 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Aug. 17 at Mount Zion Church, 224 W. Workshop is designed to give participants the research and skillset needed to create a therapeutic alliance and to build a collaborative relationship with people who have severe mental illness, leading to the acceptance of treatment and services.
