Junior Eli Garner became the 21st player in Damien basketball history to eclipse 1,000 career points Friday night as he scored a team-high 15 points in a 69-42 victory over Los Osos.

Senior Jacob Allen added 11 points and Jayden Avina and Elijah Smith had 10 points apiece for the Spartans, who improved to 17-6 overall and 3-0 in the Baseline League.

The Spartans have league games next week against Rancho Cucamonga and Etiwanda.

In other boys basketball games Friday:

South Pasadena 87, Monrovia 51: The Tigers improved to 11-4 and 2-0 in the the Rio Hondo League behind a big effort from Miles Nowe, who finished with 17 points, three rebounds and two assists.

Trevor Cohen added 13 points to go with six rebounds and three assists and Lucas Miller chimed in with 12 points and seven rebounds.

San Marino 57, Temple City 40: The Titans, who hope to battle favorites La Canada and South Pasadena for the Rio League title, improved to 13-6 and 2-0 in league play.

Nick Chen was the Titans’ top scorer with 16 points to go with six rebounds. Casey Chan finished with 14 points, three rebounds and Marcus Chen added seven points to go with three boards.

Los Altos 71, Alta Loma 66: A couple of days after overcoming a 17-point deficit in a victory over San Dimas, the Conquerors (17-4, 4-0) went on the road and got another solid win against Alta Loma (12-6, 0-2).

Sophomore Kylen Kincy led the way with 24 points and 6-foot-6 sophomore Kevin Keshishyan had 19 points. Junior Kareem Mendez finished with 11.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Santa Fe 52, El Rancho 25: The Chiefs (18-2 and 3-0) continued their dominant play with a victory over El Rancho (17-6, 1-2) to remain in first place in the Del Rio League.

Junior Natalie Rivera scored a game-high 20 points, which was also a career high. Sophomore Roxy Beltran added 11 points and Samantha Leon and Abigail Cetina had six points apiece.

Keppel 62, San Gabriel 15: The Aztecs (11-9, 3-0) haven’t lost an Almont League game for more than a decade, and that continued with an easy win over the Matadors.

Zena Tran led the way with 13 points, Keira Kamida finished with 10 points and two 3-pointers and Jessica Jiang scored nine points.

San Dimas 73, Colony 66: Nevaeh Verdines-O’Cain scored a game-high 27 points and Priscilla Romero added 20 points as the Saints improved to 11-8 and 3-0 in the Valle Vista League.

Pioneer 71, Artesia 7: The Titans improved to 9-9 and 4-1 in the 605 League after an easy victory over Artesia. Aryanna Reyes buried four 3-pointers to lead the team with 18 points. Alissa Belen added 17 points and Riley Almendarez contributed 15 points.

Temple City 44, San Marino 34: The Rams improved to 8-8 and 1-1 in the Rio Hondo League while dropping the Titans to 8-11 and 1-1.

The Titans’ Kailey Wood finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds and Lily Mata added 11 points.
