Kenan Yildiz scored two goals in Juventus’ 4-1 win over Wydad in the Club World Cup on Sunday in Philadelphia.

The victory clinched a spot in the elimination round of the tournament for Juventus.

In the sixth minute, Juventus took the lead as defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil deflected a shot attempt by Yildiz into the back of Wydad’s net.

Ten minutes later, Yildiz showed up again in front of the 31,975 fans in Lincoln Financial Field, less than half the stadium’s capacity, to double Juventus’ lead with a powerful volley into the top right corner.

Wydad made it 2-1 in the 25th minute after a pass from team captain Nordin Amrabat left Thembinkosi Lorch one-on-one with Michele Di Gregorio, who wasn’t able to stop Lorch’s chip shot.

With his second goal of the game, Yildiz secured the win for Juventus in the 69th minute after an assist by Randal Kolo Muani.

Juventus is through to the round of 16 of the Club World Cup. It will play Manchester City next Thursday to determine the leader of Group G. With the loss, Wydad is eliminated from the tournament. They will face Al Ain in a battle for third place in the group.

Manchester City 6, Al Ain 0: Ilkay Gündogan had a pair of goals, Erling Haaland scored on a penalty and Manchester City locked up its spot in the knockout round of the Club World Cup with a rout of Al Ain in Atlanta.

Claudio Echeverri, Oscar Bobb and Rayan Cherki also scored for City, which is trying to put an encouraging capper on a disappointing season.

The English powerhouse finished third in the Premier League after four straight championships and went down to Real Madrid in the knockout playoff of the UEFA Champions League.

Man City will face Juventus on Thursday in Orlando to determine which team claims the top spot in the group. Then the real work begins for both clubs.

Real Madrid 3, Pachuca 1: Jude Bellingham and Arda Güler scored first-half goals and short-handed Real Madrid bounced back from a disappointing performance in its Club World Cup opener to beat Pachuca in front of 70,248 spectators at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Seven minutes in, defender Raul Asencio received a red card, forcing Real Madrid to play the remainder of the match with 10 men.

It hardly mattered as Madrid dominated the Mexican club rest of the way.

Bellingham got the Spanish power on the board in the 35th minute when he took a pass from Fran Garcia just inside the box and belted a perfectly placed left-footed shot past goalkeeper Carlos Moreno into the right corner.

Eight minutes later, Güler made it 2-0 when he delivered a right-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom left corner off an assist from Gonzalo García.

Al Hilal 0, Salzburg 0: Al Hilal dominated possession but Salzburg’s defense held in a scoreless draw in Washington D.C. that meant that Group H would come down a pair of consequential upcoming matches in the Club World Cup.

Earlier in the day, Real Madrid defeated Pachuca 3-1, eliminating the Liga MX club. But with the tie between Al Hilal and Salzburg, the group’s spots in the knockout round remained up for grabs.

Salzburg will face a challenging match against Real Madrid in Philadelphia on Thursday with Kylian Mbappe likely return after missing Real Madrid’s first two matches. Al Hilal will face Pachuca in Nashville the same day.
