Seven Ukrainian warfighters, world-class professional musicians before the war, are concluding their two-month music tour in California.

The Ukraine Cultural Forces Music Tour of Thanks will make its way to Monterey at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Steinbeck Plaza. Admission is free.

The group features two bandura players, an opera singer, a violinist, a pianist, a country singer and a poet. Together they will perform a wide variety of music including Ukrainian and world classics, covers of popular hits and country tunes. The audience will have the chance to see two traditional banduras, Ukranian folk string instruments.

The tour made its way to the U.S. as a thank you to the American people for support and raising awareness about the war in Ukraine. In Ukraine, Cultural Forces focuses on boosting troops’ morale and psychological wellbeing.

To date, Cultural Forces has performed for the U.S. Congress, in churches, academic institutions, think tanks, veterans hospitals and organizations, and for the public at large in D.C., Virginia, Georgia and Florida, to name a few.
