Resident of Antioch
Bruna Marie Del Chiaro was born October 18, 1927 in Alameda to Rosa and Pietro Baldocchi. She was the youngest of three children, joining her sister Eva and brother Evo.
Bruna grew up in Antioch on her family’s ranch. She attended Antioch schools and graduated high school in 1945 as the class valedictorian.
Bruna worked for Dow Chemical prior to marrying Julio Del Chiaro in 1948. She set up home on Sherman Island and welcomed Leonard and Larry in 1950 and 1952 respectively.
In 1967, Bruna and her family moved to Antioch.
She began a teacher’s aide career, in Antioch, that spanned 20 years. Bruna developed many lifelong school friendships and was regarded as an excellent assistant.
Faith and family were the center of Bruna’s life. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and many church clubs. She truly lived her faith each and every day. Bruna enjoyed traveling and made many trips to Lake Tahoe and Italy with friends and family.
Her proudest accomplishment was her family. In addition to her sons, she leaves daughter-in-laws Sharon and Didi, 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Bruna spent her last years at Quail Lodge in Antioch.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Kim, Mallory, D’Asia, Paris, Hospice and Fr. Robert for their exceptional care of Bruna. Also thanks to Adele from Apex Care. She passed away peacefully at age 97, on January 16, 2025.
Rosary will be recited on February 13 with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. and Rosary at5:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be February 14 with 9:30 visitation and Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Private internment.
