Meijer is opening a new 50,000-square-foot market at 5820 Waldon Road, near the intersection of Sashabaw Road and I-75 in Independence Township.
A smaller-format store, Independence Market by Meijer will provide a new grocery destination for residents of Clarkston and Independence Township.
The market will feature a large assortment of grocery items, including fresh meat and deli items, fresh produce, a bakery, a floral and gift shop, health and beauty care products, pet food and supplies and local products, including coffee from Shaded Bloom Coffee Roasters, skin care products from Allow Nourishment and ice cream from Cook’s Dairy Farm, according to a press release.
The market will also feature a café space with Latin street food from Clarkston’s Honcho, with an outdoor patio.
The grand opening is April 30, and will feature samples from local vendors.
“Independence Market is committed to serving our new neighbors with value and convenience that makes it easy to get in and out quickly,” Independence Market Store Director Robert Lajcaj said.
The store hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, (non-holiday). For more information, visit www.facebook.com/IndependenceMKT.mi or www.meijer.com.
