The Ghiringhelli family of restaurants is preparing to welcome its newest addition, Vinny G’s Pizza & Cocktails, with fourth-generation restaurateurs and twin brothers Vinny and Alex Ghiringhelli leading the Novato venture. Currently in its soft opening phase, the pizzeria is finalizing details ahead of its official grand debut early next month.
The restaurant occupies the former home of Trattoria Ghiringhelli, which the family operated for 16 years before converting it into an event space called The Venue.
“The boys love the business, the space was already remodeled and a pizza place with a full bar was always something we wanted to do,” said Mike Ghiringhelli, who co-founded the original Ghiringhelli’s Pizzeria in Fairfax in 1985 with business partner Ed Ferrero. “Vinny is the pizza aficionado, and Alex does more of the front of house.”
The menu highlights value-priced 10- and 18-inch pies and craft cocktails, and the space includes a party room with a small arcade.
The launch coincides with a milestone year for the Ghiringhelli family as the business celebrates its 40th anniversary. In addition to Vinny G’s, they own Ghiringhelli Pizzeria, Deer Park Villa and Mac’s at 19 Broadway in Fairfax, as well as Ghiringhelli Specialty Foods in Vallejo.
Vinny G’s is at 1535 South Novato Blvd. in Novato. For updates on the official opening date, visit vinnygspizza.com.
