Ronald Anthony Macias, 82, passed away peacefully in his Brentwood home on Thursday, June 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on March 14, 1943, in Los Angeles, California. He was the third son and the fourth of seven children born to Joe and Verna (Lopez) Macias, both of whom preceded him in death. Alifelong craftsman and dedicated family man, Ron spent his life working with his hands and building a life rooted in love, humor, and purpose.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Joan (Reichling) Macias.
Together, they built a beautiful life and family grounded in loyalty, joy, and devotion. Ron is also preceded in death by his brothers Joe Macias and Robert Macias, and brothers-in-law Richard Easter and Nick Koshmieder.
Ron is survived by his three children: Jeff Macias and his wife Leticia, Cortney Maul, and Anndria Barcelona and her husband Razz. He was a proud and loving grandfather to four grandchildren: Logan Macias, Dylan Macias, Aidan Maul, and James Razz Ronald Barcelona, who brought him immense joy and pride. His unwavering love and support were constants in his family’s life.
He is also survived by his sisters: Anita McCloud and her husband Walt, Rita Koshmieder, Lupe Easter, and Liz Flores and her husband Tony. Ron leaves behind his sisters-in-law Lola Macias and Melinda Macias, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Ron was known for his hard work, quick wit, unwavering support, and big heart. A carpenter by trade, he built countless homes and buildings throughout his life, leaving behind not just craftsmanship but care in every project. He had a knack for fixing anything, a passion for gardening, and a deep love of music—especially the oldies that filled his home and soul.
Ron’s interests were as vibrant as his personality. He enjoyed golfing, puzzles, astronomy, spending time in the garden, fishing, playing cards, boxing, arm wrestling, and laughing with friends and family.
Whether through quiet acts of generosity or his steady presence at family gatherings, his legacy is one of love and strength.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM at the Veterans Memorial Building, 301 Main Street, Pleasanton, California.
Ron will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
His legacy isetched inthe hearts of those he touched, and his spirit will continue to guide and inspire his family for generations to come.
