Sunday evening, Bobcat Bonnie’s owner, Matthew Buskard, announced the downtown Ferndale location would be closed after Monday’s June 2) service.
This is the latest in a string of closings for the restaurant group, which shuttered locations in Corktown, Wyandotte, Ypsilanti and Partridge Creek over the past several months. A Bobcat Bonnie’s remains open in Lansing.
“Thank you Ferndale for truly changing so many of our lives. And thank you for changing mine — and building my confidence to be myself without wavering,” reads a statement posted to social media Sunday evening. “It is so empowering to live in this community. If you are ever in the Lansing area — we would love to see you at Bobcat Lansing!”
“And to my staff — I know we’ve seen a lot of each other lately — and I appreciate ALL of you staying with us during all these ups and downs. You have made what is a ‘job’ feel like a team, and a family. It has been a pleasure to serve you all. Thank you so much.”
Today, the restaurant at 240 W. Nine Mile Road will be open for a sale of the tables, chairs, glassware, plates, outdoor furniture, artful touches and more, according to the social media post.
Bobcat Bonnie’s first opened in Corktown in 2015. That original location closed in March.
