A 34-year-old Romeo- ville man was charged with indecent solicitation of a minor and grooming after an investigation by Will County sheriff’s police in which the man was led to believe he would meet an underage girl for sex, Sheriff Mike Kelley said Friday.
Sheriff’s detectives began an investigation in February following a Craigslist posting by Raul Orona Jr., of the 200 block of Troy Court, and numerous emails were exchanged throughout the investigation “that were sexual in nature,” Kelley’s office said.
Believing he was going to meet a 14-year-old girl in Frankfort Township to have sex, Orona was met Thursday by detectives who took him into custody, police said. Subsequently, Orona “made several statements incriminating himself,” police said.
