Jamie Schmidt and freshman Eona Pasternak were double winners as the Terra Linda High girls swim team pulled out an 88-82 victory against Novato on Tuesday.

Schmidt was victorious in the 200 IM and the 100 brest while Pasternak won the 100 fly and the 500 free.

Novato also produced a pair of double winners in Emerson Wunderlich (100 free, 200 free) and Tessa Garvey-Miller (50 free, 100 back).

• Addison Everage and Elle Philp were among the standouts as Tam picked up a pair of victories on Tuesday, winning 138-42 against San Marin and 151-24 against San Rafael. Everage was the winner in the 100 fly and 100 back while Philp was victorious in the 200 free and 100 free. The Tam girls also placed first and second in all of the relays.

Boys swimming

University of Arizona commit Ben Butler picked up wins in the 200 free and 100 back to help Terra Linda to a 118-48 win against Novato on Tuesday.

TL also got double wins from Nicolas Arinduque (100 fly, 100 breast) and Cam Hellar (200 free, 500 free).

• The Tam boys secured a pair of victories on Tuesday, taking down San Rafael 136-37 and defeating San Marin 99-75. San Marin got two wins apiece from Peyton Egide (200 IM, 100 breast) and Andrew Larson (200 free, 500 free). San Marin also won the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays.

• Cian Kelly won the 200 IM and 100 back to help power host Redwood to a 93-45 victory over Branson on Tuesday. Branson’s Nate Johnson (200 free and 100 fly) and Jude Fuchs (50 free and 100 breast) were also double-winners.

Girls swimming

Avery Guest won the 200 free and 100 fly to help Redwood to a 105-54 victory over Branson in Larkspur on Tuesday. The Bulls’ McKenzie Kwei was also a double-winner in both the 50 and 100 free.

Prep baseball

Marin Academy turned five hits into a plethora of runs in a 22-18 victory over Willits at Albert Park on Tuesday night.

Marin Academy (2-1) drew 21 walks and benefitted from six Willits errors and scored in every inning. Brady Stewart and Jacob Pinguelo drew four walks each, combining to drive in five runs and score six more. Stewart also had three of MA’s 11 stolen bases.

Thomas Klien pitched a scoreless top of the first inning for MA — the only half inning where no runs were scored — before running into trouble in the second inning. MA led 6-0 after the first inning but surrendered six runs in the top of the second.

MA scored four in the second, two in the third, three in both of the fourth and fifth, then tacked on four more in the sixth. The Wildcats never trailed despite giving up two runs in the third and fourth, three in the fifth, two in the sixth, and three more in the seventh.

Willits lost the game despite a 15-5 advantage in hits. MA pitchers only issued five walks. MA also committed six errors.

College baseball

Derek Bartram hit a three-run homer during an early College of Marin outburst, then the Mariners held on for a 7-5 road victory over Mendocino on Tuesday. Bartram was 2-for-2 with four RBIs and two runs scored.

Girls lacrosse

Audrey Spaly scored a team-high five goals as the Branson School rolled to a 18-6 road win at Piedmont on Tuesday. Olivia Ritter added four goals for the Bulls (2-0), who also got three goals each from Lila Spaly and Ava Grevelding. Branson is scheduled to host Justin-Siena on Thursday.

• Alex Chamberlain netted four goals for San Marin in the Mustangs’ 8-7 road loss to Monte Vista on Tuesday. In other non-league action Tuesday, San Ramon Valley beat Tam, 13-8.

Prep track

San Rafael resident Ellie McCuskey-Hay was a triple winner for St. Ignatius in a dual meet against Presentation (San Jose) on Tuesday. McCuskey-Hay won the long jump (18 feet, 1 inch), the 100 meters (11.79 seconds), and the 200 (24.45).

Boys tennis

Fin Donnelley, Teo Donnelley, and Dylan Donner won the top three singles matches to help Archie Williams pull out a hard-fought 5-2 victory against San Marin on Tuesday.

Fin Donnelley prevailed 6-3, 5-7. 12-10 at No. 1 singles against Milo Reyes — one of four matches between the two teams that went to super tiebreakers. All three doubles matches went to super tiebreakers with San Marin winning two of them.

Boys golf

Brody Root led a trio of Giants who came in with sub-40 scores as Redwood defeated San Marin 196-235 on Tuesday. Root carded a 37 to take medalist honors while Jack Mount and Cole O’Connell both shot 39s.

Boys volleyball

Junior Jack Avela hammered eight kills as Archie Williams closed out a 25-13, 25-21, 19-25, 25-14 victory over Marin Catholic (3-2) on Tuesday. Nash Freeman and Max Brasler had three aces each for the Peregrine Falcons (4-6, 4-1 MCAL), who also got five kills and an ace from freshman Skye Hermans.

• Senior Beckett Shewey had 10 kills and a pair of aces to help Redwood beat Terra Linda, 25-13, 25-21, 25-20, on Tuesday.

Beach volleyball

San Domenico showed early improvement in Tuesday’s 3-1 loss against Half Moon Bay. Ayla Henry, Harley Vuong, Lilie Plunkett, Sahra Gordon and Willow Press turned in strong efforts for the Panthers (0-2).
