


The Novato North majors Little League team trailed by five runs entering the final inning of Monday’s elimination game in the section playoff bracket against Petaluma National.
Novato North pushed four runs across the plate in the top of the sixth inning before Petaluma National finally closed the door and held on for a 7-6 victory at Joe Wagner Field in Larkspur.
Novato North was eliminated one game shy of making Tuesday’s championship game, which pits Lafayette against Petaluma National at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Aidan Capurro paced Novato North with three RBIs, including two on a line-drive single to pull Novato North within 7-6. Enzo Martinelli, Brody VonBehren, and Atreyu Jacobs all had RBIs for Novato North.
Cyrus Bentaleb, Ian Bowman, Martinelli, and Kingston Jepma all had two hits for Novato North, which fell despite holding a 14-7 hit advantage over Petaluma National.
The Twin Cities 9-10s team made it to Monday’s section title game but was eliminated following an 11-5 loss to Rincon Valley in American Canyon.
Twin Cities needed to win Monday and then again on Tuesday to claim the title. Twin Cities kept pace with Rincon Valley until the top of the fourth inning, when Rincon Valley scored five runs to open up a 10-4 lead.
Beau Leibick had three of the five hits for Twin Cities and drove in a run. Ted Bedecarre had two RBIs. Hunter Coghlan had a hit and drove in a run.
The Novato North 11s team kept its season alive with a 10-5 victory against Petaluma National on Sunday. Novato North advanced to Monday’s title game at 7 p.m. against Alameda. That result was not available at press time.
Novato needed a win on Monday to force a decisive game for the section title on Tuesday in Woodland.
Josh Correa had two hits and three RBIs against Petaluma National on Sunday. Ryder Vierebome, Roy Fleischer and Sawyer Krakora all had two hits apiece for Novato North, which scored three times in the first inning and five times in the second to break the game open early.
