Sophomore Ava Alvarado had two doubles, two RBI, and scored twice, and Monte Vista Christian School’s softball team beat Stevenson 13-2 in the teams’ six inning Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division game Thursday.

Senior Kayla Fullalove-Silveira had two hits, including a double, one RBI, and scored three runs for MVC (8-9, 2-6).

Junior Samantha Bertoldi had a home run, had two RBI, and scored twice. Bertoldi shares the team lead in homers (five) with Fullalove-Silveira.

Sophomore Gianna Johnson had two hits, including a double, one RBI, two stolen bases for MVC, and scored twice. Junior Juliana Lopez also scored twice.Freshman Harper Ealy Whitby earned the complete-game win. She gave up six hits, two walks, and two runs while striking out 10 batters.

MVC plays at King City (9-6, 5-2) on April 22 at 4:30 p.m.

College baseball

At Cabrillo 4, Monterey Peninsula 3 >> Kaiden Hoapili scored on a balk to secure the Seahawks’ walk-off win in the bottom of the 10th inning in Coast Coference South Division action Thursday.

Hoapili finished with three hits, one RBI, and scored twice as the Seahawks (13-20, 6-8) pulled back into a tie for third place with the visiting Lobos (18-15, 6-8).

Jacob Fiorenza had three hits and scored a run for Cabrillo. Carlos Cruz had one hit, one RBI, and drew two walks.

Jack Van Gorkum had three hits, one RBI, and a run scored for the Lobos. Teammate Jaxon Fox had three hits and one RBI.

Winning pitcher Christian Trejo came on in relief of starter Oscar Knapp and gave up three hits and one run over the final four innings with five strikeouts. Knapp struck out seven batters.

Holden Garcia relieved starter Joseph “JoJo” Keldsen, an MVC alum, and took the loss.

The teams play again in Monterey on Saturday at 1 p.m.

High school baseball

At Palma 4, St. Francis 2 >> The Sharks came up short against the Chieftains in the teams’ PCAL Gabilan Division game Thursday.

Rocco Razzeca doubled and had two RBI for the Chieftains. Aiden Veliz had two hits and scored a run, and Manny Dorantes had a hit and scored twice.

Dorantes pitched five innings and earned the win, and Razzeca threw two scoreless innings of relief for the save.

St. Francis (8-6, 5-5) plays at division leading Carmel (11-3, 7-1) on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Boys track and field

MVC, Marina at Seaside >> Senior Aiden Lopes (300 hurdles, 47.95) earned one of the Mustangs’ seven event wins in their PCAL tri-meet against Marina and the host Trojans on Thursday.

Other MVC individual event winners were: juniors Conor Gilliam (800, 2:09.55), Gavin Beckmen (3,200; 10:26.18), Owen Bingham (110 hurdles, 19.42), and Boston Ashe (high jump, 5-4), and freshman Zach Moran (discus, 89-3).

Juniors Patrick Tracey, Conor Gilliam and Beckmen, and senior Joshua Tepoorten teamed for the win in the 4×400 relay (3:41.96).

Girls track and field

MVC, Marina at Seaside >> Freshman Anna Conca took first in the 800 (2:55.28), 1,600 (5:29.39), and 3,200 (13:25.96) for the Mustangs in their PCAL tri-meet against Marina and the host Trojans on Thursday.

MVC senior Nyree Delfin took first in the long jump (14-1.5). She also cleared the top height (7-0) in the pole vault, as did freshmen Eleanor Crane and Gabby Telles.

The Mustangs also earned individual event wins from senior Madison Bandy (100, 13.48), and freshmen Norah Rondia (100 hurdles, 18.22), Carly Heitzenrater (300 hurdles, 54.73), Gracie Criado (shot put, 18-9), and Norah Rondia (triple jump, 27-11).

Freshman Charley Moggia and Kylie Fitzpatrick and seniors Hannah Woodford and Bandy teamed up for the win in the 4×100 relay (53.83).

Sophomores Chloe Shaw and Finley Castro and freshmen Sophia Bahre and Conca won the 4×400 relay (4:31.94).
