Bella Ferrity had four hits and scored four runs to help Marin Catholic mercy rule Sonoma valley 17-2 in five innings on Wednesday.

Morgan Carlson (two hits, three RBIs, two runs), Grace Berringer (three hits, two RBIs, two runs), and Vivian Partain (three hits, three RBIs, two runs also had big plates at the plate for MC (1-0), which scored 12 runs in the third inning. Both of Carlson’s hits were triples.

• Freshman Rory Brunetti threw her first complete game Tuesday in San Domenico’s 21-8 loss to California School for the Deaf, as several Panthers players made their career debuts.

Prep baseball

Thomas Martinez rang up eight strikeouts across five innings as Terra Linda beat Piner, 4-1, in Wednesday’s non-league baseball matchup.

The Trojans’ Oliver Dixon hit a double and a triple to drive in three runs, and Augie Hamann had two hits, including a double. Nate Combrink was 3-for-4 with a run scored.

• Oliver Bennett had three hits, including a triple, and scored four runs during San Domenico’s 18-12 victory over San Francisco Waldorf on Tuesday. Will Rothstein was also 3-for-5 with two runs and a pair of RBIs, while Julian Mackler and Oliver Swain chipped in with two hits each.

Boys golf

San Marin edged Terra Linda, 235-237, on Wednesday at Indian Valley Golf Club as Noah Duncan and Mix Figueroa both came in at 45 for the Mustangs.

The Trojans’ Ryan Younkin shot a 44 for medalist honors, while Tanner Kosiak (45) and Evan Gutierrez (46) had career-best rounds.

Boys tennis

Casra Afsharipour and Cal Fazal picked up wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles over Chase Hoeveler and Ishwar Jayaraman, respectively, to lead Redwood to a 6-1 victory over Branson in a battle between the two powerhouses in the MCAL on Tuesday.

Will Greenwald and Alejandro Puentes won at Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively, to give the Giants the singles sweep.

Both teams used their top players on the ladder — Julian Zhang for Redwood and Tommie Higgins for Branson — at No. 1 doubles. Zhang and Liam Martinez defeated Higgins and Finn Higgins 6-3, 6-1.

• Milo Vidyarthi and Andrew Gorczycki were victorious at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively, to lead Marin Catholic to a 7-0 sweep of Archie Williams on Tuesday. David Shepard pulled out a 6-3, 2-6, 10-7 victory against Dylan Donner at No. 3 singles and the team of Burke Hadd/Nikolaj Wermer defeated Julian Scheidelman and Alex Casey, 6-2, 5-7, 10-7 at No. 2 doubles.

Boys lacrosse

Parker Nap scored five goals to lead Novato to a 10-9 home win against Cardinal Newman on Tuesday. Tyler Smith added three goals and three assists for the Hornets, who also got a pair of goals from CJ Castro. Novato saw stout defensive play from Sam Kujawa, John DiMartini, Nikolai Posada and goalie Sergio Yepez Camara.

• Junior Tucker Kurth netted three goals to lead Terra Linda to a 10-4 home win over Petaluma on Tuesday. Freshman Dawson Friesen scored two goals and assisted on two others for the Trojans (1-2), who also got goals from seniors Dimitri Kokalis and Dylan Kraus, junior Cayden Martin and sophomore Sean Takueshi-Ross. Ross won seven of 11 faceoffs. Senior Patrick Knopf had 12 saves in net.

• Redwood powered to a 14-8 road win over Justin-Siena on Tuesday. The Giants (2-1) are scheduled to host 2024 Central Coast Section finalist Sacred Heart Prep on Friday.

Girls lacrosse

Novato opened its 2025 schedule Tuesday with a 10-10 tie against MCAL foe Terra Linda in a non-league matchup. Senior Sammie Reno and juniors Mia Elkington and Allison Marovich each scored a pair of goals for Terra Linda.

• San Marin turned back Windsor in Tuesday’s 20-2 home win. The Mustangs (2-0) are scheduled to play Monte Vista in Danville on March 11.

• Redwood flexed its muscle in Tuesday’s 14-3 victory over Central Coast Section power Menlo. The Giants (2-0) are scheduled to host Monte Vista on Thursday.

• Archie Williams dropped its season opener, 13-10, against Bay on Tuesday.

Boys volleyball

Redwood defeated Archie Williams 3-1 on Tuesday. Zach Wulff had16 kills for the Peregrine Falcons, while Max Brasler has 16 assists. Nash Freeman added two aces.

• Terra Linda held on for a 3-1 home victory over San Marin on Tuesday in the Trojans’ league opener. Terra Linda (2-3 overall) is scheduled to play Tam High in Mill Valley on Thursday, while San Marin (0-6, 0-3) is scheduled to host Archie Williams.
