Prosecutors obtain renewal of DUI grant
The Marin County District Attorney’s Office has been awarded a $465,000 grant for a two-person prosecution team to handle impaired driving cases.
The grant aims to boost the prosecution of offenses, help train other prosecutors through a state partnership and collaborate with law enforcement on best practices.
In Marin, 982 DUI cases were filed last year, about 100 more than the previous year, according to the district attorney’s office.
This is the 11th year Marin County has been awarded the grant. It is offered by the California Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
