Minnesota United is looking forward to a Sunday fun day.

The Loons announced their Western Conference semifinal match against Los Angeles Galaxy is scheduled for 5 p.m. CDT Sunday, Nov. 24 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.

MNUFC advanced to the final four of the Western Conference’s MLS Cup Playoffs on Nov. 2, but had to wait for the three other spots in the next round to be filled this weekend.

The playoffs will now pause for a FIFA international break this week, then full teams will reconvene next week to train for the conference semifinals.

MNUFC currently has seven players called up to represent their respective countries: starting goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair (Canada), key midfielder Robin Lod (Finland), standout fullback Joseph Rosales (Honduras), two starting defenders Michael Boxall (New Zealand) and Carlos Harvey (Panama) as well as two backup forwards, Tani Oluwaseyi (Canada) and Teemu Pukki (Finland),

The Loons-Galaxy winner will play the LAFC--Seattle Sounders victor in the West final on Nov. 31 or Dec. 1. MLS Cup will be Dec. 7.

Minnesota had one draw and one loss in two regular-season games against the Galaxy this season. They played to a 2-2 tie at Allianz Field on May 15, when Minnesota had an expected goals advantage of 2.5-1.0.

Then on July 7, Galaxy won 2-1 in Southern California, but Minnesota was without St. Clair, forward Oluwaseyi (international duty) and midfielder Wil Trapp (sidelined with a hamstring injury).
