The first piece of Michigan and Michigan State basketball’s Big Ten schedule for next season is in place.

The Big Ten announced its conference matchups for the 2025-26 campaign on Tuesday, with the opponents and locations for each team being set.

The league, which is entering its second year since expanding to 18 teams, will feature a 20-game conference slate for the eighth straight season. Each team will play three opponents twice and the other 14 teams once, with seven single plays at home and on the road.

The Spartans and Wolverines will continue their home-and-home series as a protected rivalry, with matchups in Ann Arbor and East Lansing. Michigan will also have double plays against Ohio State and Penn State, while Michigan State will face Indiana and Rutgers twice.

Michigan and Michigan State will make a trip out to the Pacific Northwest to face Oregon and Washington and will host UCLA and USC for the first time as league members.

The Wolverines will also have home games against Indiana, Minnesota, Nebraska, Rutgers and Wisconsin and road games at Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern and Purdue. The Spartans will take on Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Northwestern and Ohio State at the Breslin Center and travel to Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State, Purdue and Wisconsin.

Matchup dates, game times and TV designations will be announced at a later date.

Michigan State won the Big Ten regular-season title last season by three games with a 17-3 mark and reached the conference tournament semifinals before having its NCAA Tournament run end in the Elite Eight. Michigan finished in a tie for second in the league standings at 14-6 in coach Dusty May’s first year and won the conference tournament before falling in the Sweet 16.
