On Sunday, Chicagoans basked in the mildest weather in nearly three weeks, as temperatures climbed into the upper 50s. The city’s official 57-degree high at O’Hare was the highest reading here since a balmy 59 degrees Feb. 28. This mild interlude will be “one and done,” as strong Canadian high pressure anchored near Hudson Bay is scheduled to feed a steady stream of chilly northeast winds into the area through the upcoming week. With the area’s normal late-March temperatures approaching 50, inland readings should remain in the 40s, with 30s prevalent near the lake. One benefit of the chill: The strength of the high pressure should keep storm systems well south of the area at least until late Friday, when the chance of rain and snow increases as low pressure traverses the southern Midwest.
