If one were to guess what the most popular book genre in the United States, they may guess mystery novels or literary fictions depicting the “great American story.” In actuality, Google Trends data suggests the most read genre in the U.S. is romance as it’s the most searched in nearly half of the states in the union.

The Woodland Public Library has decided to hop on the romance bandwagon, offering an adults-only romance book club aiming to bring a supportive community together around a genre often providing lighthearted yet emotionally intelligent and impactful stories.

The Happy Endings Romance Book Club meets every fourth Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon in Leake Conference Room at the library, where attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite romantic tales to share with others.

“Members will share their thoughts on the latest love tales, favorite swoon-worthy moments, favorite characters, and explore the themes of love, passion, and happily-ever-afters in a welcoming (non-judgy) community setting,” the club’s summary reads.
