San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a suspect Friday in Half Moon Bay who allegedly stalked a woman, according to a press release.

The 50-year-old woman, a resident of Half Moon Bay, had received packages, pieces of clothing, letters and messages from the suspect as he attempted to contact her, authorities said.

The Coastside Patrol Bureau received information about the suspect on Jan. 9, authorities said. Using surveillance footage and other evidence, deputies identified the stalking suspect as a 34-year-old Half Moon Bay man.

The suspect was arrested at his Half Moon Bay residence on Jan. 10, and he was then booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of felony stalking, officers said.

The sheriff’s office is in the process of investigating the incident and asks anyone with further information to contact the office at 650-363-4911 or to call the anonymous tip line at 800-547-2700.
