Jannet Mary Ball Downs, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on October 31, 2024 in Broomfield, Colorado, at the age of 80. Jannet was born on May 17, 1944 in Ogden, Utah. There, she met her sweetheart, Jim, to whom she was married in 1963. In their 57 years together, Jim and Jannet raised six children, teaching them to love those around them, each other, and their Savior. Jannet created a home where all were welcomed with a big hug and warm meal. Jim and Jannet moved from Ogden to Broomfield in the early 1970s. She served in her church community as president of the Relief Society, director of a camp for young women, and board member for Broomfield High School's "Just After Midnight" program. She also loved to be civically engaged.<br><br>In later years, Jannet traveled frequently to visit her family. In support of her grandchildren, she was a devoted attendee at many baptisms, dance recitals, and high school graduations. She could often be found watching Hallmark movies and painting with her grandkids, checking in with a friend, or going on a cruise with her husband. Known for her deep generosity and constant expressions of love, Jannet will be missed by many. We look forward to a joyful reunion in the life to come. Jannet is survived by her 6 children, Cynthia Davies (Rober t), Tif fany Brown (Michael), Jef fery Downs (Jami), Matthew Downs (Emily), Nichole Johnson (Jeremy), Natalee Maxfield (Steve), and 30 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.<br><br>She is survived by her sisters Margaret Buckway (Carl) and June Reese (Michael).<br><br>Jannet was predeceased by her husband, James Downs, and her brother, James Ball. Funeral will be held Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1250 Main St., Broomfield, CO, 80020. Viewing will begin at 10:00 am. The family is also hosting an open house Sunday, November 10, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Jannet's home.<br><div><br></div>
