Resident of San Leandro

Doris (Roberts) Curlett, passed away on January 27 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob), who died in 2019. She is survived by her children, Elaine (Gino) and Ed, as well as her grandchildren, Jeffrey (Tyra), Julie (Eric), Lindsay and Abby.

She also has 3 great grandchildren, Rylie, Aiden and Brooke.

Doris was born in Salt Lake City but moved to Alameda at a young age. She graduated from Alameda High School in 1947. When she was a sophomore, she met Bob and they married on June 5, 1948. They remained married for over 70 years. They moved to San Leandro and had two children.

Doris was a homemaker, very devoted to her family.

She attended every activity or event in which her children (and later, grandchildren) were involved. She was a member of the school PTA and volunteered whenever she could. She had an outgoing personality, enjoyed the company of friends, and forged many long-lasting friendships.

She enjoyed her role as hostess for family events.

She sewed, knitted, crocheted, always seemed to be working on some kind of craft, and loved decorating her house for every holiday. She enjoyed seeing little theater productions with her family. Doris and Bob also did a lot of traveling, took many day trips, and she particularly loved their cruise vacations.

Doris was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

The family will have a private Celebration of Life.
