Kyle Guerra hit a two-run home run in the top of the sixth inning Sunday — his fourth of the weekend — to lift the San Rafael Pacifics to an eventual 3-2 road victory against the Monterey Amberjacks.

Guerra’s homer came with one out in the sixth inning and also scored Keith Whitaker to give the Pacifics (21-6 Pecos League) a 3-0 lead. Monterey (5-19) came back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh but Payton Rios pitched the final two innings for San Rafael, allowing just one hit to earn the save.

Starting pitcher Jared Greer scattered seven hits across seven innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out six to earn the win.

John Bicos and Whitaker had three hits apiece for the Pacifics, who were coming off a 16-4 home victory against Vallejo on Saturday.

Guerra and Aki Buckson had huge games at the plate against the Seaweed (11-14). Buckson had five hits, drove in three runs, and scored three times. Guerra hit three home runs and drove in five.

The Pacifics also got home runs from Bicos and Chris Wright while building a 16-1 lead. Vallejo scored three times in the ninth inning to make the final score slightly more cosmetic.
