Filling up the trophy case
While Thompson Valley claimed its first state football title on Saturday inside Canvas Stadium, hoisting trophies has become old hat for the Cherry Creek Bruins. After winning their Class 5A showdown with Legend, the Bruins have now won 14 state championships — the most big-school crowns in CHSAA history. But the Bruins still trail one team for total football titles: the Limon Badgers. Here’s a look at the all-time leaders after Saturday’s championship games:
