Christopher Hale Holloman escaped this mortal realm on Thursday, February 15th, at the young age of 50. Chris was adopted by his parents, Nancy & David Holloman soon after birth. The family moved from San Francisco to San Rafael with Chris before his second birthday.
Growing up, Chris was always the funny one in the family, and he lived his childhood like it was one big adventure.
This made for exciting tales of his young life that were often shared with family and friends for many years, in person and over social media. Chris was very open about his great moments and his struggles. Living his life to his drumbeat he insisting on making his own way in the world. He made many close friends who accepted him as family, uplifting him and helping him in times of need. As a child, he was impish and mischievous. As an adult, he was unfailingly cheerful and affectionate.
After graduating high school in Danville, California, Chris took on the world on his own terms. He was never a fan of organized education but was an avid learner, growing on his terms and methods. His ability to retain details was a gift, whether books or pop culture, music & movies, or a parade of life’s small moments. Chris lived all over California with his family and the many friends he made throughout his adult life. Chris survived two life-changing accidents during his childhood and young adulthood. He was a fighter but also terribly pragmatic.
Chris treated every relationship as an adventure, whether traveling with family or helping friends during significant moments in their lives.
Chris never married, but he had several close and important relationships. He had no children, although his friend’s daughters called him Mama Chris. His gift was friendship and was diligent about staying in touch with school friends throughout his life. He is survived by his mother, Nancy, and his brother Mark, brother-in-law Brian, nieces Paley and Margot and nephew Lochlan. His cousin Cathy and her husband Christian, and his aunts and uncles Linda & Bob, and Mollie and Joe. They all loved him dearly and miss his twinkle and his warmth.
Chris’s journey of laughter and love ended quietly after a long health struggle in Santa Rosa, California, with his close family at his side. Please note his change of address to his new place of residence, Los Gatos Memorial Park, 2255 Los Gatos Almaden Road, just down the road from his mom and brother’s homes. He loves cold beer and ACDC if you swing by, and any remaining legal matters can be directed to his lawyer’s firm, Dewey, Cheatum & Howe.
