Veteran offensive lineman Kahlil Benson is planning to leave Colorado after one season.

On Thursday, 247Sports reported that Benson has entered the transfer portal with plans to play his final season of eligibility at a different school.

Benson, who transferred last offseason from Indiana, started the first four games of the 2024 season at right guard for the Buffs. He then missed two games due to injury.

When he returned from injury, Benson didn’t start, but was part of a rotation at guard, while also playing some at right tackle. He then missed the last two games, including the Valero Alamo Bowl last Saturday, with an injury.

Overall, Benson played 405 snaps in nine games this season, but only 139 of those snaps came after September.

Benson came to CU after starting the entire 2023 season at right tackle for Indiana. In 2022, he played all 12 games, with five starts, for the Hoosiers. He missed the 2020 season with a torn ACL and redshirted in 2021.

During his five-year collegiate career, Benson has played in 33 games with 21 starts.

Benson is the fifth CU offensive lineman to enter the portal this offseason, joining Tyler Johnson, Payton Kirkland, Yakiri Walker and Hank Zilinskas.
