The Dallas Wings signed guard/forward Haley Jones of Santa Cruz to a rest-of-season contract, the team announced Wednesday.
The former Stanford All-American, the sixth overall pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream, previously signed a hardship contract with the Wings on June 17, following injuries to Maddy Siegrist and Ty Harris, and national team obligations for Teaira McCowan and Luisa Geiselsöder.
Jones was released from the hardship contract on June 29 following the return of McCowan and Geiselsöder from Eurobasket. Following her release, Wednesday was the first day Jones could sign a rest-of-season contract with the Wings.
She had four points, one steal, and one assist in 14:60 minutes during the Wings’ 87-76 loss against the host Chicago Sky on Wednesday night.
Jones averaged 4.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and .571 shooting in two games with Dallas this season, including an eight-point, seven-rebound showing in the win over the Washington Mystics on June 28.
Dallas (6-15) plays at the Indiana Fever (9-10) on Sunday at 10 a.m.
