The unbeaten Santa Cruz Warriors had five players record double-doubles and beat the Sioux Falls Skyforce 110-96 in the teams’ NBA G League game at Sanford Pentagon in South Dakota on Friday.

The teams traded the lead 13 times and were tied five times, but the Warriors pulled away in the fourth quarter, when they outscored the Skyforce 27-19.

Forward Javan Johnson made five 3-pointers and posted his third straight game with 20-plus points for the Warriors (3-0). He finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots for his first career double-double.

The Warriors shot 45.2% (19 of 42) from beyond the arc. They also outrebounded the Skyforce 67-45 and recorded 30 assists.

Two-way center Quinten Post had 20 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists for Santa Cruz. Forward Kevin Knox II had 16 points and 13 rebounds, and forward Jackson Rowe had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Yuri Collins had 10 points and 10 assists.

Guard Zyon Pullin led Sioux Falls (2-1) with 19 points and eight assists. Center Malik Williams had 16 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, and forward Nassir Little had 18 points and five rebounds. Guard Isaiah Stevens had 16 points and 10 assists, and guard Bryson Warren scored 14 points after coming off the bench.

Santa Cruz play the Iowa Wolves (1-2) at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Men’s basketball

At Cabrillo 70, Canada 62 >> Freshman guard Walzel Evans made 10 free throws and scored 17 of his 20 points in the second half to help the Seahawks win their nonconference finale Friday.

Freshman forward Dai’shaun Buie scored 15 points for the Seahawks (8-8), who led 35-31 at the half. Freshman guard Skylarr Redwood added 13 points. Freshman guard Sulliman Koko and freshman forward Johnny Gasaloga each scored eight points.

“We have been in this situation several times this year and they haven’t gone our way: we didn’t make the play, get the stop, make the shot, etc.,” Seahawks coach James Page said. “Tonight we were able to do the things necessary to hold onto a lead. Proud of the group; the freshmen stepped up and played really well.”

Sophomore guard Josiah Morris scored a game-high 21 points for the Colts (10-3). Sophomore guard Brylan Lundy made three 3-pointers and scored 15 points.

Cabrillo opens Coast Conference South Division play at Gavilan (3-12) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Girls basketball

Santa Cruz 52, RFK Community 26 >> Sophomore Ania Sinnott and junior Brooke Alden had a well-rounded outings, and the Cardinals advanced from the Dragons New Year’s Tournament semifinals at Helen Bernstein High in Los Angeles on Friday.

Sinnott finished with a game-high 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals for the Cardinals (4-7), and Alden had 10 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocks.

Sophomore guard Brianna Fernandez had eight points, four rebounds, and three steals for Santa Cruz. Junior Karolina Espinosa had four points, six rebounds, six assists, and three steals.

Santa Cruz jumped out to a 21-5 lead and led 26-18 at the half. The Cardinals blew the game open in the third quarter and outscored their opponent 26-8 in the second half.

Junior Selima Whitfield scored eight points to lead the Bobcats (10-4).

Santa Cruz plays Gardena (6-8) in the championship on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

Pajaro Valley 43, at Oakwood 39 >> Junior Olivia Contreras scored 13 points before fouling out with 3:06 remaining, and the Grizzlies held on for their second nonleague win Friday.

Both teams had to go deep into their bench to finish. The Grizzlies were also minus a couple players on holiday break in Mexico.

Oakwood cut a 13-point lead down to two before juniors Gianna Garcia and Arya Vaid fouled out.

Grizzlies freshman forward Karely Alvarado iced the game hitting a late free throw. Oakwood missed a shot in the waning seconds and Pajaro Valley got the rebound and dribbled out the remainder of the clock.

Junior guard Monique Ayala and Alvarado each scored 10 points for Pajaro Valley.

Junior guard Kailee Barlics scored 18 points for the Hawks (2-2). Sophomore forward Mikeyla Coley scored 11 points.

Pajaro Valley (2-7) plays at Seaside on Monday at 7 p.m.

Christopher 39, at Aptos 28 >> Sophomore Eliya Chavez made four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 12 points in the Mariners’ nonleague loss Friday.

The Mariners, who trailed 20-9 at the half, were plagued by 20 turnovers.

Junior Abby Sherwood had six points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three blocks for the Mariners. Senior Berkeley Ashby had five points, 10 rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Sophomore Emi Gansaver-Piltcher had five points, five rebounds, and four assists.

Aptos (8-5) plays at Prospect (6-2) in Saratoga on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Boys basketball

Pajaro Valley 59, at Kirby 40 >> Anthony Aguirre made two 3-pointers and scored a team-high 25 points to help the Grizzlies win in their Pacific Coast Athletic League Santa Lucia Division opener at Enterprise Gym in Scott Valley on Friday.

Carlos Escobar made two 3s and scored 16 points for the Grizzlies (2-6). Alan Cervantes made two 3s and scored all 14 of his points in the second half.

On Thursday at 7 p.m. Pajaro Valley hosts Ceiba, and Kirby (1-7) plays at Monterey Bay Academy.

Boys wrestling

Apple Cider Classic Duals >> Los Gatos went 4-0 to take first place at the Apple Cider Classic Dual-Meet Tournament at Watsonville High on Friday. The Wildcats beat Alisal 54-15 in the final.

Aptos (1-2-1) and Soquel (2-2-1) tied for third, 42-42. Greenfield edged North Monterey County 42-41 for fifth place, and Watsonville (0-4) took seventh.

The Apple Cider Classic individual tournament takes place at Watsonville on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Women’s basketball

At Mary Hardin-Baylor 73, UC Santa Cruz 54 >> The Banana Slugs were unable to keep pace early and late in their road loss in Belton Texas, on Friday.

UCSC was outscored 21-14 in the first quarter and 27-17 in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore forward Alexa Litchev had 24 points and nine rebounds for UCSC. Freshman guard Emilie Ngo had nine points, two assists, and two steals, and junior wing/center Jenna Gorton had seven points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two blocks.

Junior guard Katelen Brooks had a game-high 25 points for the Crusaders (10-4). Junior forward Josie Bruder had 15 points, and sophomore forward Adyson James had 12 points and six steals.

UCSC (5-13) concludes its three-game road trip at East Texas Baptist (10-3) in Marshall, Texas, on Sunday at 9 a.m.
