Bella Torres, 10, plays with snowballs large and small Monday at Palmdale’s Anaverde Park, where she was accompanied by her mother and sister.
While many were concerned about possible flooding as storms hit parts of Southern California over the weekend and Monday morning, snow fell in Palmdale in the Antelope Valley, leaving a landscape of beauty as seen through the lens of a photographer.
Claudia Torres and her daughters Sophia and Bella gathered the snow to make a snow wall before having a snowball fight at Anaverde Park in Palmdale. Nearby, Anthony Perkins and his daughter Autumn made a snowman at the park.

Many still remember the powerful, cold storm in February 2023 during which snow fell for two hours in the Antelope Valley, Agua Dulce and nearby areas.
