A 56-year-old Covina man was charged with murder Monday, months after a shooting that killed a man in Pomona.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also charged Julious Whiten with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Pomona police arrested Whiten on Thursday, four months after the Dec. 15 shooting that killed 65-year-old Gregory Estel, according to the Pomona Police Department.

Officers and fire officials responded to the shooting in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue and found Estel in his car with multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Whiten was being held without bail.

Police ask anyone with more information about the shooting to call 909-622-1241.
